Update on Sunday, January 6: For those of you in the USA who have ever heard of or watch "the Simpsons" the episode that is on right now is a pardoy of the New Hampshire primary. It is hilarious because... it is so close to the truth!
P.S. And yes, Hillary, Ron, John, Mitt, Rudy, and Fred all called again today (well, their recorded voices did.) and Barack sent another set of convassers to the house. And then there are the SURVEYS! The Republican survey, the Democratic survey, the "incredibly biased Mike Huckabee survey...."... they go on and on. My husband just hangs up. I just can't, given that I ask YOU to take surveys for us...I try to answer, Some of them are just so very poorly designed and biased...
Dear Lotus Notes users,
I realize that you are an international bunch, coming from over 30 countries in 27 languages.
However, at this moment, January 5, 2008, I will tell you that I am spending my entire weeked being distracted by the US presedential campaign.
I live in New Hampshire -- a tiny US state with barely a million people, but we get lots of election coverage. We have the first primary in the country. For example, today I was away from home most of the day due to basketball 10 year old tryouts for a travel team, and then the town basketball games for both of my kids. I returned home around 4 pm and my 10 year old listened to our messges on the answering machine... they went like this...
The ten year old says; "Mom, Hillary Clinton called and wants your vote. Dad, Ron Paul called and wants YOUR vote, and Mitt Romney called and wants all of our votes and so does John Edwards, And some dude named Rudi Guilliani also wants you to vote for them."
So. The telephone does not even take into account the canvassers who stopped by while we were gone and left fliers....
We here in the USA state of NewHampshire are a bit distracted with elections right now. We just watched the republican debates on TV ( we were too late to get actual seats at the debate at St. Amnlsem College in Manchester-- we could have and I regret it, because it would have been a great lesson to our children....)
This Blog is NOT about politics. Which means that I will probably not post anyting until after "primary tuesday." Thanks for your patience, and, if you are the praying type, pray that the citizens of the USA choose the best president they can.
