John,

On recent contacts, how in the world do we clear them out? Delete seems to be blocked, and I've got some variations on people's names that are causing internet style addressing when Notes abbreviated addressing is more desirable.

The modified on column would work in as "too much info" for me. I'd rather see the view without it.

Thanks!

John, I absolutely WOULD suggest adding the "modified on" column, for two reasons:

1. Since contacts are added automagically now, it would be nice to be able to see recently added contacts.

2. I've always added a new column to my contacts because it helps me figure out which contact is newer, when I have two "conflicting" one's, as in one person that may have recently changed companies and hence have two email addresses. Additionally, when syncing contacts with anything else, such as other messaging clients (*cough*Outlook*cough*) or PDA devices, a "modified on" property allows users to see when an item was added and makes it easier to identify problems.

As Leonard suggested, not everybody will need the "modified on" column, so it should merely be resizable to be "out of sight" for those users that don't want to see it.

Is it possible to add/remove columns to the contact view from the contact form? Like File explorer in Windows or Apple iTunes.

Agreed. Yes, how long do 'Recent Contacts' hang around for?

I'd like the ability of having multiple email addresses for one person's contact, so that when I send an email I can then choose which email address to use.

Also..Notes would realise which email address I use the most for that person, and put it at the top of the list when I send an email to that person.

John,

Sounds like a good idea to me: for example, even if Samantha does not use it routinely her geek support helpers will find it useful when trying to determine/explain why she has multiple entries for one contact.

N.B. Make sure it stays as the rightmost column and easily ignored when not needed

Outlook 2000 (7 years old application!) has the ability to modify views in for example the inbox or address book. So if a user might need the field "modified" in the view, its easy for this user to add it to the view. All users doesn’t have the same requests for the content.Ok its possible to modify the template - but then Notes 8 wont be a system for the users...

How about cutting in the phonenumbers field? You could reduce the labels like "Business:" -> "B:", "Home:" -> "H:" and "Mobile:" -> "M:".

I would very much like to see this column added as part of the standard template so I do not need to customize thr template to add the column myself. I work in the Entertainment Industry where contacts are vital. With PDAs, PABs, company Rolodex's etc. we have many sources for new contacts and being able to see new contacts is a definite need. Duplicate contacts are also a common headache, so having teh ability to see which entry is more recent is an important capability.

Having just moved users from one domain to another, I must say that the inability to delete recent contacts is appalling. These still pop up even after a change of preferences. Failed message deliveries for the 20 people that I have moved so far have reached 1000 today, because the wrong address for a person always pops up. When is 8.x available with the delete feature - or has anyone got a solution as to how to remove these !
