The simple answer is Yes, because My developerWorks itself is a little bit customized version of Lotus Connections 2.5. Another deployment is in Lotus Greenhouse. But are there any other non-IBM's deployments?
And the answer is Yes!
I just googled for a string "communities/service/html/allcommunities" and here what I found:
http://locopo.net:9080/communities/ (look like 1.0 !!!)
http://connections.vss-inc.com/communities/ (more modern 2.5)
http://connections.logicalive.com/communities/ (also seems to me it's 2.5)
http://www.isign-ihear.org.tw/communities/ (my favorite :)
Sure there must be more.
And last, but not the least, another IBM's community place, I even didn't heard about before!!!
Many of you may be are aware about one of the greatest announce, made on the passed Lotusphere 2010 - IBM Project Vulcan. For me it took about two weeks to figure out what is it and got an idea of how it could work, because I have not been @ Lotusphere this year and has limited ability to ask questions to Gurus :( But anyway, you might know, that it is more like an IBM's vision for how people will collaborate in the future using email, social software (Quickr, Connections, LotusLive ), Portal and instant messaging Sametime all together, from single point.
The question for myself, what I tried to answer this time, was: "Ok, there are a lot of social services in the Internet as Gmail, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, you_name_it, but is there any universal client or service for using all of them simultaneously (as suppose to do Project Vulcan)? "
And here is what I found:
First one is Inbox2: www.inbox2.com - from my point it is the most close to what we will see soon, when the beta of Project Vulcan will be released. Here is a short video about it:
So need to wait and test it by myself with Connections and other Lotus products :)

During passed two weeks I've been involved into a process of integration Lotus Connections 2.5 with WebSeal, where WebSeal part was covered by Business Partner. The following are the things I have learned during that project.
1. Ask if WebSeal in current configuration allows an access for all users from LDAP, or an access is limited to some group(s)? What are the plans about access to Connections?
Note: In documentation is mentioned that you need to add a user from connectionsAdmin alias to LDAP repository to make DSX work through WebSeal, but if an access to Connections is limited to some group, you need to add this user to this group.
2. Ask if in current environment there is an ability for uses to access to backend servers through HTTP and HTTPs or users have to use HTTPs all the time?
Note: If only HTTPs is available, you have to use https for DSX and dynamicHosts URLs in LotusConnections-config.xml. Here are parts of my LotusConnections-config.xml file as an example:
3. Make him aware, that configuring integration with Lotus Connections is not very clear task and he have to pay attention to documentation!
(InfoCenter and this article: Configuring IBM Tivoli Access Manager SSO for IBMLotus Connections 2.5).
The last lesson is the most important from my point of view :)
Crossposting from here: http://macguidera.blogspot.com/ just to make a note for myself:
"Mac Guidera on April 7 2010 added to the IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog, is the Lotus Connections 2.5 Portlet Developer Pack. This free package includes the WebSphere Portlet Factory Source for the Activities, Bookmarks, and Blogs portlets for Lotus Connections. Use this pack to customize or extend the portlets from IBM or use them as a model as you build your own."

I've got a question from the customer, who wanted to customize email notifications, send by Lotus Connections. All what I have found in InfoCenter was two small articles for Files and Wikis. "That could not be true!" I told to myself and started to do my favorite activity - searching. And voilà, found a grate article on this topic on developerWorks here: Customizing email notifications in IBM Lotus Connections 2.5.
As a summary:
