I took a different approach to installing SARMON on Solaris 11, namely extracting the into /opt/local/sarmon and adding a entry in crontab to run at every hour using the following:
0 * * * * /opt/local/sarmon/sa1 300 288 &
After the hour interval, I do find that a "sa10" file is present in /var/adm/sa, the "sa10" file continues to grow, meaning there is a always a single file in the /var/adm/sa directory, so my question is, first, did I do the installation right, second, the fact the file just grows, how do I get the HW status at a hourly basis, and third, how do I read the file and make it useful in trend analysis.
Thank you in advance.
