ALM goes mobile!
Can you believe it? The powerful, tiny device most of us have in our purses or pockets is really just a few years old. Of course we know that, but it’s amazing how quickly the mobile smart phone has expanded beyond its consumer roots to capture the imagination of businesses of every type. And how quickly businesses have seized opportunities to create what Geoffrey Moore calls “systems of engagement,” enhancing their corporate backbones with new mobile applications to support the modern enterprise.

Companies building mobile apps for their customers and employees already recognize that ALM tools can help development teams deliver faster, and better. These new realities are why IBM has just announced the IBM Mobile Development Lifecycle Solution. Developing for multiple, mobile channels presents a significant challenge. With Rational Application Developer family and the new IBM Mobile Development Lifecycle Solution, teams gain cross-platform, mobile web and hybrid app development, test, and build capabilities. They can manage plans, tasks, code, and builds from a common development workbench.
Businesses will be better able to deliver innovative, high quality mobile solutions to their clients. They can more easily extend enterprise assets as mobile-consumable services, then access them through Worklight adapters (included in IMDLS). This speeds up front-end development, so mobile development teams are better able to deliver apps on time and with the right sets of capabilities.
At IBM Interconnect, earlier this month in Singapore, we met with business and IT leaders to discuss -- among other things -- how the mobile enterprise is helping businesses speed innovation and extend their reach. We’re very pleased to offer new solutions to help in this effort.
Send us your feedback. We’d love to hear from you.
