Now that we've all had a chance to decompress for a day or so, I thought it would be cool to offer some thoughts on the whole Expo process.
The local Expo was very different from the Armonk Expo for the San Jose Crew. Like any first run, it was a little more nerve wracking then the one in Armonk, especially given the fact that we filled the entire auditorium in SVL, over 500 people in all, of which the teams were by far the smallest part. Vishal, Suzanna, Catie, Julie and Veronica did an excellent job of preparing us for the entire day, and despite some rough rehearsals, when game time came the Almaden folks were awesome. We followed three very distinguished speakers, notably Veronica Woody and Jane Harper, both of whom are very polished presenters. One of the take aways from the SVL Expo was the incredible amount of support and interest that IBM has at both a local and national level for the Extreme Blue program. Not only did we fill the auditorium, but as we manned our demo stations, the constant stream of Distinguished Engineers, Master Inventors, and just plain old brilliant people who work at IBm was awe inspiring. This has been one of the themes of this internship, that we get to meet and interact with an incredibly diverse and broad swath of the IBM Community.
