Client feedback has a huge impact on what we develop. The more interaction we have with you during the development of our products, the more feedback we are able to implement to ensure that we deliver the outcomes you are expecting. This working relationship with our clients is what we refer to as Transparent Development. Transparent Development is the ongoing, open engagement between IBM development and our users on the development of our products. The emphasis is on being open and transparent about our direction and providing you with open access to key release content, including:
This interaction enables us to provide a more holistic view of product lifecycles, and it gives you the ability to see that your feedback is being considered and used. We are opening the doors to our development lab and inviting you to participate.
The mechanism we’re using for feedback is through project dashboards available on Service Management Connect (SMC). You can access them by clicking here. We have built a strong community base on SMC and have a firm platform on which our community can collaborate on the future of our products.
Our project dashboards will give you access to our release content, including beta code downloads. This open approach to product development provides you with the opportunity to collaborate with our development teams in a unique way as it makes you a part of the development process and lets you influence the development of our products.
The first solutions using the transparent development methodology are Tivoli Business Service Manager, Tivoli Monitoring, and Tivoli Workload Automation. We soon will be opening IBM SmartCloud Monitoring and the IBM Open Service Delivery Platform (includes Tivoli Integrated Portal and Tivoli Common Reporting) for transparent development. These projects will be featured at PULSE where there will be several opportunities for you to learn more about Service Management Connect, our vision for transparent development, and how you can make an impact on the future development of our products.
