I'm writing about food because today's lunch, ravioli in a yellow cream sauce, caused some speculation as to the contents of its stuffing. It was meat-like, but lacked the fiber-ish feel of beef or pork. One table mate speculated that it was cheese, but as a Wisconsin native, I discount that theory. I'm guessing it was grain of some sort, or maybe a pureed legume. If you're at the show, please reply to this post with your guess as to the contents of today's ravioli. Whatever it was, I liked it.
Developers beat each other up for many things, and especially on sites like slashdot, tease each other with the stereotype of being basement-dwelling, junk-food eating, corpulent, anti-social, unloveable nerds. That's simply not true -- at least for the attendees and presenters at Eclipsecon. As a group, these attendees and presenters are fit. It's unlike walking around a US shopping mall where obese people abound. I wonder if there are any recent studies on the amount of exercise that developers engage in and calories they consume, and how it compares to the rest of the population. Or, maybe Americans are in the minority at Eclipsecon.
On to the next session.
