The Domino Portal Integration dW Space has finally sunset. Since the space simply aggregated content from areas of IBM, none of the content is actually gone. I choose not to migrate the space because when the concept of Domino and Portal Integration was "productized" as the Domino Extended Products Portlets, there needed to be a way to explain how to do integration. It was unclear whether to use DIIOP, the Domino JSP library, LDAP routines, Sametime toolkit, etc. The guts of integration was a collection of various heavy-weight product APIs. Additionally, integration had a very specific endpoint - the portlet. Over time, these APIs have given way to lighter-weight REST SPIs, and we'll see a more integrated experience baked into the product rather than a specific endpoint. The very concept of integration is becoming innate through initiatives such as Project Vulcan
. You may still need help on setting up Single Sign On, but we've written papers on that subject
in great detail.
And now I need to find a new title for this blog ...
