This topic is too specific and kind of too bad a fit for a several minutes session
It is very useful even you don't really want to run your scripts in parallel. Say, if you have some dependencies across your scripts. The ALERT module wil resolve the problems.
DBMS_ALERT doesn't have UNREGISTER and WAITALL APIs which are very useful. so I hack it and will post in another blog post.
Some outlines here,
1) DBMS_ALERT module is very useful when you want your scripts to run in parallel.
2) WAITONE waits for one registered signal while WAITANY waits for any of the registered signal.
eg. consider a process like below,
we can define a event list as, action is the SP name bound to the event.
A test script using DBMS_ALERT, (pls note to make output clear, I didn't put the run in background...)
