Last weekend I was in Vizag, along with three of my other colleagues to conduct the IBM Technology Day (ITD) at the College of Engineering(Autonomous), Andhra University. ITD is an initiative under the IBM's University Relations division. The objective being to introduce/update the young technologists on the latest happenings in Technology (in general) and the related tools/products from IBM (in particular). The event saw an audience of 300+ at the opening function, which was held at the spacious auditorium.
After a 20 mins inauguration function, the event was opened by the Rector of the University. We then started by giving an overview of IBM in India and then splitting into two parallel tracks, one on EDA by Subhrajith B and another on Bio-Informatics by Dr Senthivel. This is the first time that we are conudcting a track on Bio-Informatics at the ITD. I've got sometime to move around the campus, catch-up w/ my professors from the EEE dept.
Post lunch we started off with Cell Architecture, followed by an introduction to Autonomic Computing, by Suresh B. Then Suresh slipped into the role of quiz master and conducted a quiz, w/ some gifts (T-shirts) for the right answers. After a quick break for tea/snacks, I continued on SOA and Web-services and the close-out program. It was a great moment for me to be in the campus after a gap of six long years, since my graduation from the same college. I look forward to organize the same event next year. I'm posting here some of the pictures from the event.
