Social networking services are on track to replace email as the primary communications method for many business users in the next few years. This new paradigm impacts more than the inbox. It stretches to all applications that can be enhanced through the added energy, creativity and decision making that comes from a social network. As each company looks to incorporate social networking technologies, it is, in fact, becoming what IBM calls a Social Business. Beginning on May 17th, IBM will start a podcast series to help our clients and partners understand how they can help companies to become a Social Business by creating social business applications.
The series will feature technology experts like CTO, Charlie Hill and XPages Architect, Philippe Riand sharing information in 20 minute podcasts. We'll talk about the pieces that make up the IBM Social Business Framework, the IBM Social Business Toolkit, bringing applications to "the cloud", and making applications available through a variety of mobile devices. Partners that attend these webcasts will have the tools needed to help their clients to become a Social Business. We'll use crowdsourcing to come up with future subjects and provide insights from subject matter experts.
