This year’s Information On Demand conference promises over 700 technical education sessions, 110 hands on labs. 300 customer speakers, the list goes on. If you are looking to understand some of the key trends in analytics, big data and information management, this is the place to be.
In the midst of all of this, who better to learn from than our business partners? These are the folks who get to see the industry from a unique perspective: they are familiar with a range of deployments across all kinds of customer environments and so have a wide understanding of how IBM technology can be applied.

There is always a T, whether it be ETL or ELT or ETLT, but where should that T, those transformations, be done to achieve optimal performance? Attend this session to discover methods for balancing the T in your environment leveraging IBM InfoSphere DataStage with Teradata. Well discuss the respective advantages of implementing the T within DataStage or in Teradata, as well as use cases for each and how the different approaches affect system performance, real-time capabilities, recoverability, system configuration and scalability. Finally, well identify how you can leverage Teradatas Data Integration Framework, based on best practices and design methodologies for using DataStage Balanced Optimizer with Teradata.

3969A A REST based approach to integrating an external, line-of-business data system with IBM Case Manager
Sun, Oct 21, 2012, 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Case Management systems need to access data from systems of record such as CRM and ERP, when creating or modifying a case. To facilitate such integration scenarios, IBM Case Manager (ICM) provides an external data service (EDS) REST protocol. This service implemented on the REST protocol acts as the communication bridge between ICM and the external data source. This session will introduce the architecture of ICM and EDS integration, the REST protocol used in this integration and a demonstration of an ICM system integrated with SugarCRM, an open source CRM system, using EDS. The session requires attendees to have a basic understanding of ICM and HTTP/REST fundamentals.

1955A The Need for a More Powerful Capture Solution: The Implementation of IBM Datacap at BHSF
Wed, Oct 24, 2012, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Capturing and managing critical data (43,000 pages per day, 14,500,000 pages per year) for a large, growing health system is a big task. BHSF found the answer with a document capture and enterprise content management solution from CGI, IBM and ibml. Faced with data volumes that were expected to rise as a result of expansion, BHSF knew it needed to implement a new capture solution that would integrate with its IV Solution, CGI Sovera HIM. In this session, learn how, with medical record data more readily available, BHSF improved its coding turnaround time and the role their IBM Datacap solution played in decreasing capture time from 24 to 4 hours.
