That's cool, but you can simplify it a lot: importvg will take a PVID instead of a hdisk. Try something like: <div>&nbsp;</div> for v in $(lsvg | grep -v rootvg) ; do lspv | grep " $v " | head -1 ; done | awk '{print "importvg -y", $3, $2}' <div>&nbsp;</div> Most of the *vg *pv commands will take either name or vgid/pvid.
