Convergence of Software ValueNet into Software Value Plus and Termination of the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software ValueNet We are pleased to announce IBM will complete the convergence of Software ValueNet (SWVN) into Software Value Plus (SVP) when the IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS and IBM FileNet portfolios will be offered through Software Value Plus effective 1 April, 2011. This change supports IBM's goal of enhancing its software channel initiatives while expanding benefits and opportunities for its Business Partners. We are fully committed to the successful support and transition of all IBM Business Partners for Software ValueNet to Software Value Plus. You will continue to be part of a select ecosystem of IBM Business Partners for the IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS and IBM FileNet product portfolios within Software Value Plus if you take the actions outlined in this communication. The purpose of this communication is to describe how this convergence will occur. The change will be completed with two actions: 1) Software ValueNet to utilise Software Value Plus discount structure starting 1 April, 2011 From 1 April, 2011, IBM will use the Software Value Plus discount model for SWVN portfolios. Business Partner discounts for Software Value Plus use Passport Advantage banded pricing which should result in fewer requested special bids, helping to improve sales processing time. The suggested discounts for IBM Business Partners who are approved to remarket IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS and IBM FileNet program licenses will vary based on your geographic location and the pricing set by your Value-Added Distributor. Several incentives have been added to offer IBM Business Partners more opportunity to increase their overall benefit potential. Your overall benefit potential will depend on the SVP Remarketer Type for which you are approved for a specific Product Group and your value-add participation in these incentives. 2) Transition to IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus and Termination of the IBM Agreement for Software ValueNet In mid-2010, IBM made the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus available. Most Software ValueNet Business Partners have accepted this agreement. If you have not already done so, we ask you to accept the new agreement now. Your assigned Authorized Profile Administrator can easily access the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus for your company's acceptance under the Pending Agreements section in IBM PartnerWorld for those countries where electronic acceptance is allowed. For those countries where hard copy signature is required, please locate your geographic contact on the following IBM PartnerWorld Web site and request a copy of the agreement: https://www.ibm.com/partnerworld/softwarevalueplus/contact You can also find this agreement, for reference purposes only, on the IBM PartnerWorld Web site at: https://www.ibm.com/partnerworld/wps/servlet/ContentHandler/svp_authorized_portfolio_apply As part of this transition, if you are currently approved as a Value-Added Reseller or Solution Provider under the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software ValueNet, you must accept the terms and conditions of the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus. In addition to signing the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus, IBM Business Partners approved for IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS, and IBM FileNet will need to: Maintain required certifications Maintain membership in PartnerWorld Maintain membership in Software Value Incentive or Value Advantage Plus Complete and submit the Software Value Plus PartnerPlan Software Value Plus does not offer an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) or a Services Provider relationship type. As part of this transition, if you are currently approved as an influencer, i.e. an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) or a Services Provider, you must migrate to the Value-Added Reseller or Solution Provider Remarketer Type under the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus. You may also work with IBM ISV Developer Relations and Brand Business Development resources to establish a joint execution business plan. If you choose not to join IBM Software Value Plus, you will continue to be a valued IBM PartnerWorld participant. IBM is electing to terminate the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software ValueNet between you and IBM effective July 1, 2011. To avoid a lapse in coverage, you must apply and be approved as an IBM Business Partner for Software Value Plus and accept the terms of the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus by July 1, 2011. Effective April 1, 2011, Business Partners approved for IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS, and IBM FileNet will be required to utilize the Software Value Plus Operations Guide, and the Software ValueNet Operations Guide will no longer apply. Support Providers In addition to the above, Business Partners that are currently approved as a Support Provider for IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS, or IBM FileNet products under the IBM Business Partner Agreement Support Provider Attachment for Software ValueNet, and who wish to continue providing support for these products, must accept the terms and conditions of the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus and its associated IBM Business Partner Agreement Attachment for Primary Support Provider - Sublicensing and IBM Business Partner Agreement Primary Support Provider - Sublicense Requirements. As stated above, the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software ValueNet between you and IBM will terminate effective July 1, 2011. For those Business Partners who have been approved for Support Provider under the IBM Business Partner Agreement for Software Value Plus, there is no action required. Support Providers must also maintain required certifications for all IBM products they wish to support, maintain performance criteria, and have a current Service Plan on file. The Support Provider option is available in Software Value Plus for authorized product groups by brand and may not be available for all product groups or portfolios. Existing Quotes Effective April 1, 2011, all open license quotes for IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS and IBM FileNet software products will terminate and must be requoted under the new Software Value Plus guidelines. Any open renewal quotes for the Second Quarter 2011 for IBM Cognos, IBM SPSS, or IBM FileNet products that were quoted under the Software ValueNet guidelines will still be able to be processed. 1 May 2011 is the new effective date for Notes and Domino to go into authorized distribution. At this time the new Reseller Authorization Group 'Lotus Messaging and Collaboration' joins the existing authorized product groups of Software Value Plus (SVP).
