This Customer Oriented Webinar will demo SkipSync which is an IBM exclusive feature on the IBM LTO 5 drive.

The 3592 family of tape drives has had the performance advantage of Virtual Backhitch for many years. Now the LTO family has a similar performance enhancement. SkipSync is easy to implement; and for the right workload can provide a significant performance improvement.

Jeff Ziehm from the Advanced Technical Skills Organization will present an  overview of LTO5 SkipSync, show how to implement it, and demonstrate its impact on performance.
