System Administration in WXTR can be done through Websphere Application Server administration console where in specific panels are provided to configure WXTR resources.
- Login to Websphere Admin Console.Go to Servers in the left pane,then Application Servers and select the appropriate server.
- Select the WXTR container property value that you need to modify in the WXTR container settings.
- Modify the value and click Apply.
- Click Save to save the configuration permanently.
It can also be done using the wsadmin.sh command line utility.WXTR provides wsadmin jython commands which can be used to configure WXTR resources.Hence it can be automated as well.And we would be concentraing more on the commandline utility in this blog.
I will be showing here how to automate System Administration in WXTR using a simple python program.
Sample automation of WXTR configuration using a python program is given below:
command1="/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer1/bin/wsadmin.sh -lang jython -c \"AdminTask.cics('[-command get -c xad -colonSeperatedOutput yes -name SYS$XA -nodeName " + machinename + "Node01 -serverName server1]')\" "
for line in a1.readlines():
passed=passed + 1
Similarly other attributes can also be automated and it is advisable that it is done using commandline if you are well versed with the commands and options.And if for some reason you are not then as mentioned you can always fall back on WAS Administration console.
