Web Experience Factory, Under the Hood
The purpose of this blog is to describe the inner workings of Web Experience Factory. This is not a How-To for any particular result you might want to achieve using WEF, though there will be some of those as examples. This is to educate you on how the tool works, so that you might be more likely to answer those How-To questions yourself.
About the Author
Steve Zagieboylo has been working on Web Experience Factory, in its several different names, for nearly 13 years. He conceived, designed, and wrote the PageAutomation system which is what all of the complex page creation tools are based on. He also participated in the design, and wrote most of the code, for the Generation Engine, what the entire Factory is based on. He helped design the Service Provider / Consumer layer, upon which the SOA architecture depends. He has created dozens of Builders and had a hand in dozens more, fixing bugs or adding features. And he has done a fair bit of work in the Designer, as well. There is not much of the Factory that he is not at least familiar with.
