I bet you do! If you follow my blog, you know that I often promote the fabulous work that our champions do to support IBM’s products. I like to call the champions IBM’s Best Friends!
Just announced today, the nominations for the 2013 IBM Champion for Information Management program are now open (worldwide) and are being accepted through February 28, 2013. Candidates may be nominated by another individual or they may self-nominate at http
The official call for nominations information:
A list of current 2012 IBM Champions
To get an idea of some of the work that Champions are appreciated for, take a look at some of my previous blog entries:
Attend IDUG DB2 Tech Conference 2013 - Apr 29 - May 3, 2013 in Orlando, Florida - Many of the speakers at this conference are IBM Champions, including Craig Mullins, Bonnie Baker, Martin Hubel, Scott Hayes, Roger Sanders, Judy Nall, Susan Lawson, Fred Sobotka, and many more!
DB2 Symposiums 2013 - Many of the champions who take part at large IDUG events, also take part in more regional events like the DB2 Symposiums. Klaas Brant is the leader in these education sessions.
Check out these Rising Stars in the DB2 Community! - I’m not sure how many of these “rising stars” are currently champions, but I think each and everyone of them should be nominated!
What's Happening in Your DB2 World? - In December, I was having much fun reaching out to many of the champions who I interact with via twitter and asking them about the DB2 activities they were involved with.
Best Selling Books, 2012 and Many IBM Champions are Authors - Many of our champions have written books, which I’m very happy about! I have more writing opportunities as well, so if you’re interested, you know where to find me!
Become a DB2 evangelist by being speaker! - IBM Champion Scott Hayes takes part in the DB2 community in many important ways, but I think that his grooming of future speakers / experts is outstanding. Perhaps taking part in this competition is a first step in becoming a champion!
Three DB210 for LUW Certification Exams are now available - Have you ever considered who creates the questions on these exams? Would you be surprised if I said IBM Champions did? People like Rebecca Bond, Roger Sanders, Dan Luksetich, Judy Nall, Susan Lawson, and others are critical to the success of the certification program.
IBM Champions at IOD: A perfect match and More IBM Champions - I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... without champions, would there even be an IBM Information on Demand Conference?
I haven’t mentioned every champion, but be sure, they are very appreciated. If you think you contribute in ways such as these, be sure to nominate yourself or ask someone to nominate you.
If you have worked with me and I’ve promoted the work that you’ve done, feel free to use me as a reference, but give me a heads up. I look forward to working with all the IBM Champions who I can in the coming year!
