A DB2 Symposium is a three day training event with one day seminars presented by industry leading consultants. The DB2 Symposium fills the gap between a conference and a multi-day training. The DB2 Symposium is unique because you can join us for 1, 2 or 3 days, depending on your needs and budget. In the past I’ve seen many IBM Champions on the schedule including Bonnie Baker, Martin Hubel, Bryan Paulson, and IBMers such as Melanie Stopfer, Matt Huras, and Tim Vincent.
The team that brings you the DB2 Symposium wants to know what you like and what you don’t like by answering this survey.
What is a Symposium?
In ancient Greece a Symposium was a meeting where they discussed a topic. So is the DB2 Symposium. These one day seminars began in 1999 and have been very successful. The feedback over the years has been very positive. But times are changing and the team wants to be sure that they are still fulfilling your needs.
I haven’t attended a DB2 Symposium, but I’ve worked at several that have taken place in Toronto. I like the format and find that many people attend for a day or two allowing them to get excellent education, but with fewer interruptions to their home life. This is of course if the Symposium is taking place in the city where you live or work. You can help influence this by filling out this survey. This survey is for USA DB2 users, so don’t even attempt if you are outside the USA. Perhaps the events outside of the USA are already located in convenient locations… like the one in Toronto.
Another reason to fill out the survey is to win a prize. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win a full 3-day DB2 Symposium Pass or another prize. The survey closes Sunday December 18, 2011, so don’t delay.
The questions on the survey will ask you about the topic you want covered as well as where you want the event to take place. For a symposium to work well, the right balance of topics needs to be scheduled. You can influence the agenda by filling in the survey, saying what you would like to see in the sessions. The 2012 schedules will be adjusted to what you want, so be sure to send this survey to others in your area who may also to attend the symposium.
