A whopping 730 votes were cast for our finalists before Friday’s show! As a result, we have our top 6 and bottom 3 contestants. The task for the judges is to save one of the bottom 3 and then to hand off the voting to you the listeners again. Let’s try to beat the number of votes from last week!
Two of our bottom three:
How I successfully, designed, implemented and monitored IBM InfoSphere Event Publisher.... My Experience.
Event Publisher is a Subset of Q Replication. Rene provided a good definition of this tool with very detailed slides. This is a big topic, but Renu covered it quite well, despite running out of time. The judges chose to save Renu... so she’ll be back next week!
Hash Access to DB2 Data: Faster, Better & Cheaper
Very informative presentation with good & detailed slides. He provided the benefits of using hash organization along with how to convert to this. This is another big topic. If you’re interested, check out the DB2Night Show presentation starring Phil Grainger who did a 1 hour presentation on this topic previously. (see replays)
Our topic six:
How DB2 10.1 Changed the Data Warehouse Terminology ETL to ETi
Mohan covered the Ingest feature of DB2 10. He covered this feature in detail along with a comparison study. He finished on time. Interesting topic. Well done.
Save me in, locks you out.
Finished early. Nice presentation. Simplicity. Well done.
Counting your Carbs: Watching for the little things that add up
Keeping watchings on tables and indexes that are growing.
Seems like this technique could be a huge time saver!
Great presentation... very good topic that many people struggle with.
Nice solution provided!
These functions were introduced in 9.7 and are strategic.
Good guidance on setting the parameters for optimal use.

Ember is a pro. Awesome job. More people should be using these monitoring tools!
Unfortunately our hosting service had technical difficulties, so there were many people who could not join today... including two of our top 6 contestants. Host Scott Hayes was able to get links to where you can preview their presentations:
When casting your votes, please give these finalists earnest consideration.
Time to VoteLive studio audience and replay viewers can access the show’s survey to vote and for a chance to win our $25 Amazon.com gift certificate drawing. The survey is embedded at the bottom of the replay blog. After you complete the survey, it will close automatically. Only one entry per computer is allowed. Also, to minimize the "I'll just vote for my friend effect", we are now requiring that you must vote for TWO or more finalists. You can still vote for your friend, but be sure to cast a vote for at least one other good presentation!
Coming Next:We have two more shows in the “DB2’s Got Talent Competiton”. March 15 and 22. Join us to learn, to support up-and-coming presenters, and to have some fun!
