Besides announcing Mohan as the winner of the 2013 “DB2’s Got Talent” competition, Vijay Sitaram and Bob Vargo, volunteers from IDUG joined the DB2Night Show today to provide information as to what is taking place at IDUG Orlando. The conference begins April 29 and ends May 3 and there are plenty of reasons to attend the conference.
There are two milestones being celebrated this year: IDUG celebrates 25 years of amazing learning and DB2 has been a product for 30 years. Can you imagine the number of people who have been involved in the conferences over the years as well as the number of hours of learning that has taken place? Definitely great reasons to celebrate! I salute all volunteers IDUG and creators of DB2!

Books will not be for sale at the conference, but stop by booth 316 to see a sample of the books that you can purchase at a discount if you purchase online and directly from the publisher. IBM Press books are available to IDUG members at a 45% discount!
Booth 316 is also where you can pick up copies of free Flashbooks.
Use social media to stay in touch
Once again, Scott Hayes has set up an aggregator so that you can see all conference related tweets in one spot: bit.ly/idugna13.
If you want to tweet, use the hashtag #idugna for any conference related messages and your message will be included in the aggregator feed. Screens at the conference should also be showing the tweet messages as they are sent, so you can stay in touch with your ipad, smart phone, or screens at the conference.
I’ve created tweet messages for each session and will include information about the location, time, and speaker, so watch my twitter site to stay in touch as well: @ibm_db2.
