What is the use of a cold standby in your definition? when you state "it will be installed and configured only when the primary node breaks down for the first time. "

From my understanding, this is what would you do when a primary component fail, you need to replace it . Hence install the software and configure it again on a different environment.

In my opinion, a Cold would be in this case the warm standby! Data or the system internal state will be mirrored to the standby component upon the cluster manager (typically several time a day.)

To sum up, there will be literally two types of standby in the software case.
Cold and Hot. There is really no existence for your cold-standby definition since it is not practical at all.
