Excellent progress was made by the ARTS XML and Data Model committees at the August meetings hosted by IBM at their research lab in Hawthorne NY:
- The Data Model committee has identified 122 enhancements for version 6.0, scheduled for release in January 2009. Members may review this list on the Webboard and provide comments and suggestions. The Data Warehouse work team completed planning for version 2.0, focusing on adding Inventory data to support many additional KPI's.
- ARTS-XML advanced the work on forthcoming versions of the SOA Blueprint and Best Practices Report, to be released at the NRF Annual Convention in New York. Consistent web services practices were defined in a meeting with representatives of the UnifiedPOS committee and the first exploratory meeting on cooperation with OAGi was held. OAGi is a very successful horizontal standards organization that has adopted many of the guidelines of UN/CEFACT, and many retailers and their vendor partners are now using both ARTS and OAGi standards.
