I took a week's vacation and then attended a conference for a week so I have not posted for a bit. I'm going to try and get caught up on all of my posts over the next few days. Firstly, there is quite a bit of Web Services standards news to report:
WS-ReliableMessaging 1.1 is an OASIS Standard
OASIS has announced to its members, that WS-ReliableMessaging v1.1 has become an OASIS Standard. Congratulations to all involved.
Balloting has begun at OASIS to consider approving WS-SecurityPolicy as an OASIS Standard. The ballot closes on June 30th. WS-SecurityPolicy is the third of the three security related specifications being worked on by the WS-Secure Exchange (WS-SX) Technical Committee. The other two, WS-Trust and WS-SecureConversation, became OASIS Standards earlier this year. Congratulations to all members of the TC for all of their accomplishments in recent weeks.
WS-Federation TC up and running
The WS-Federation (WS-Fed) Technical Committee (TC) has had it's initial meeting and is now up and running. This TC is focussed on producing an OASIS standard that builds upon prior work in OASIS (WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS-SecureConversation, WS-SecurityPolicy) and describes how to do secure federation of identity based upon Web Services. You can find full details of the work plan and scope for this important new TC in the call for participation that went out a few weeks ago.
