You've probably heard about actors -- possibly even here, as we've covered a number of Java-based actor implementations on the Java zone in the past few years. With the advent of functional languages such as Scala and Groovy, as well as Java-based implementation libraries and frameworks, actors, which provide an increasingly popular and necessary alternative to traditional Java concurrency, have come into their own on the Java platform.

The library, aptly called muJavaActors for its modest size, allows for highly parallel execution on the Java platform.
