I saw the annoucement of VAAI support for the DS8870 and made an inquiry as to when we might expect to see VAAI support for the DS8700 and DS8800. I was very surprised to find out that there are no plans to add VAAI support to the DS8700 and DS8800. This comes as a great disappointment to me as my organization implemented the DS8700 as a consolidation platform and are continuing to make investments in it. If you are as disappointed as I am please ask your IBM storage sales rep or your IBM business partner to subit a FITS request on your behalf requesting that VAAI support be added to the DS8700 and DS8800.

James,
You are correct. If enough people bring this up, perhaps development can revisit this decision.
-- Tony
