Most of the technical tips on our 100 Technical Support Tip blog series focus on the real nitty gritty information you need to stay current with your IM product. However, from time to time we will also suggest other ways to keep your skills current. One of the best ways to validate your expert knowledge on one of our IM products is through IBM's industry-recognized certification program.
Here are a few steps you can take if you'd like to earn a new IM Certification:
- CHOOSE: Figure out the certification role you are interested in. To do this, you can check out product-specific certification roadmaps, or search for a specific exam.
- PREPARE: Once you have decided on your certification exam, you need to get prepared! The certification team has created a number of FREE self-study tutorials for our most popular exams. You can also search for your exam and select the Test Preparation Tab to view the recommended courses that will prepare you for your exam. You may also be able to pick up a certification guide filled with information and sample exam questions.
- PRACTICE: When you think you are ready to write the exam, you can test your readiness with a Practice Test. These tests allow you to test your readiness and identify areas in need of focused study to prepare you for success on exam day. These assessments are offered through Prometric at a low fee of $10 USD.
- PASS: Ready to write your exam? Simply sign up to write the exam at a Prometric Testing Center near you. View the "Taking an Exam" section of the Certification Overview to learn more.
So there you have it -- four steps to validating your skills through IM Certification. Best of luck with your exams!
