The Information on Demand
conference is being held in Las Vegas this October 25-29.... and the IBM Electronic Support team is going to be there! If you're attending... look us up!
We have two people from our team attending the conference:
- Mandee Ross, who is a member of the Information Management team and subject matter expert on all the tools available in the IBM Electronic Support portfolio.
- Peter Picone, who is the lead User Experience architect on the new IBM Support Portal. Both of them have been posters on this blog and we're excited to have them representing Electronic Support at the conference.
So... what are we doing at the conference?
Let's start with the Presentations
we're going to be giving at IOD... First...
Peter is going to be holding a Birds of a Feather (BOF) session, also on Thursday at 12:30-1:15pm (BOF-2838A)
in the Mandalay Bay North Convention Center - Islander D. The BOF is titled "Tour, Try and Talk About The New IBM Support Portal
" and the abstract is provided below:
Join the lead User Experience designer for a live demo and discussion about the new IBM Support Portal. Learn how the IBM Support Portal brings all online support resources for IBM hardware and software offerings together in one place. We will explore how the portal lets you troubleshoot multiple products in combination, refine searches to pinpoint the exact information you need, and personalize the pages to reflect the way you work. Your feedback will go directly to the design team, so please come and contribute to the future of IBM Support.
.... Mandee is going to be holding a technical training session right after Peter at 1:30-2:30 (Session: TOD-2643A) in the Mandalay Bay North Convention Center - Mariners B. The title of this training session is "How can I resolve my problems faster using IBM Electronic Support

When you have a problem, you need an answer fast. IBM Electronic Support is a robust portfolio of software and hardware online support resources designed to help you prevent problems from occurring in the first place, or quickly and easily troubleshoot problems when they occur. At this session we'll discuss and demonstrate the support resources, tools and content you can use to stay informed about the IBM products you use, find answers to questions and download fixes, troubleshoot specific problems, and submit service requests online. And finally, we'll take a look at the training options available if you're interested in learning more.
... throughout the conference, we're going to be holding 30 minute demo sessions of the new Support Portal on the Expo floor. We're still finalizing exact times and locations. We plan on posting an update early the week of October 9th.
In addition to the presentations, we're also going to have a Pedestal
on the Expo Floor. Come visit us at Booth 603, Pedestal K
. Peter and Mandee will both be there and would be happy to give you a tour of the new Support Portal and introduce you to some of the other resources and tools that make up the Electronic Support Portal.
