Today (04/11/12) IBM announced a way to change the economics of IT by radically simplifying enterprise computing. By unveiling PureSystems, the ground breaking family of expert integrated systems. The first two members of the family, PureFlex Systems and PureApplication Systems, mark an important step forward in how clients will think about, and interact with, their IT environments in the future. These systems will enable clients to avoid headaches and invest in innovation and growth instead of maintenance and upkeep, which consume an astounding 70% of IT budgets.
How you ask, are we doing that?
IBM has embedded technology know-how and industry expertise captured from thousands of client engagements in 170 countries into first-of-a-kind software that allows PureSystems to automatically handle basic, time-consuming tasks. This approach can double the computing power per square foot of data center space and reduce deployment time from six months to less than 10 days.
Expert Integrated Systems reinforce IBM's heritage of systems technology leadership.
IBM has invested $2B from R&D into PureSystems involving thousands of IBMers in 17 labs in 37 countries. IBM's industry-leading hardware, software and 20-plus years of hands-on experience set it apart as the only company capable of taking a true systems approach to helping clients solve their most challenging business and IT problems.
While our competitors will claim they, too, have integrated solutions, PureSystems are more than a static stack of independently tuned-components. No one else has the ability to capture, distill and integrate decades of experience and insight from clients, partners and employees -- what we call patterns of expertise -- directly into their system. This allows clients to cut months off deployment times, speed time to value, and lower risk and cost.
Today IBM also announced the first Enterprise App store! http
At launch IBM already has 126 Applications that are tuned for PureSystems and 600 partners on board to sell PureSystems.
A great foot forward...
