At a younger age, one of my favorite hobbies was picking locks and creating spy tools. I loved the challenge of opening locks whether they were a high school lockers, my parents cars, my grandmothers old entry ways, etc. I also enjoyed passing messages on to my friends with home made invisible ink (made from lemons) and using a police scanner to see what was going on in the hood. Nope, never became a locksmith, never went to the dark side, nor did I become a permanent part of a clandestine operation. However, I've always been intrigued with tools used by spies, both modern and ancient so I was quite interested in reading what Forbes Magazine showcased in this article about the evolution of spy tools. Of course, if you have a similar interest and you are in the Washington DC area this summer, be sure to check out the Spy Museum, talk about interesting devices. Have you been able to discover the encrypted message in this blog? Have a great weekend.
