Free webinar: Updating Power Systems, I/O and HMCIf you struggle with updating HMC, Power System firmware and [especially] I/O adapter firmware, you won't want to miss this webinar: Session 17: Updating Power Systems, I/O and HMC will be running on Wed 3rd October 2012, 10:00 - 11:00 BST (UK time). This is one of the many practical and helpful topics covered by the team of Power Systems gurus in the UK & Ireland. The webinar is free, and you can check what time it will be in your corner of the world by clicking here. If the time zone doesn't suit you so well, never mind. They generally get the webinar presentation up on the Power Systems Virtualisation from IBM wiki within a few hours. Update: and that's exactly what happened. Single Point of From my experience, I find that system firmware and particularly I/O device firmware are often overlooked. They only get updated as an afterthought, or as a necessary prerequisite for an OS upgrade. This neglect can lead to poor system performance, unexpected crashes and potentially huge business impact. If you know of systems that are in need of a little TLC when it comes to firmware (I'm not talking of systems that you would be responsible for, of course, since they're already up to date), then you would do well to tune into this webinar, or have a look at the wiki. |
