The Spoken Web event at developerWorks - a first hand experience

I was fortunate to be a speaker at the developerWorks LIVE! event in Bangalore on 28th April. Before this event, I have presented the topic at various forums - in international research conferences , at customer meetings and in government forums. The response that I received from this developer forum was enthralling to say the least.
Participants at the developerWorks LIVE! event are very hands-on programmers and architects and therefore are very quick at getting to the details. Once the participants were able to understand the concepts of Spoken Web, there was a large amount of interest in terms of the different aspects related to content creation, management, navigation and search in this domain. There were a large number of comments where participants wanted clarifications on how this compares with other services being offered on the field. Perhaps a large audience was abreast with the different services that are available in the market, which was good to know. The audience was therefore quick at understanding the novelties of Spoken Web in light of what they already knew.
