The IBM SmartCamp program resumes the finals with speeches that outline and uplift SmarterPlanet solutions, entrepreneurial pursuits and IBM Solutions, as well as global perspective on the three mentioned.
Special guest, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom made his way to IBM SmartCamp Global Finals to set the mood for discussions of innovation and technological advancements. His enthusiasm for accomplishments of the entrepreneurs and the future they are set out to create was apparent.
Having focused on what has been happening in California, he believes this is the time of a positive turnaround . Although the unemployment has been high with the recent economic turmoil, he said, "30,080 patents are from California...this is the place to be".
The developments, more specifically, technological developments are very prominent in the Golden state. Innovation is there - it is just a matter of time for the developments to be put to use by companies to maximize the value to the customers. The vision IBM set fourth of building a Smarter Planet helps leverage the value maximization by offering mentoring, resources, asking challenging questions, and infuse ideas with global perspective.
IBM's program, a facilitator of the change towards a bright future, is doing this for the second year. The entrepreneurs of 2011 cycle are presenting their last 6 minute pitch today to present their innovative ideas and compete for the winner title.
