IBM Global Entrepreneur Startup Smartcamp Tel Aviv, Isreal
The IBM Smartcamp Tel Aviv, Isreal competition will be held September 21, 2011. The competition is designed to
help entrepreneurs and start-up companies get help from seasoned entrepreneurial mentors, venture capitalist,
academic institutions, and marketing firms. The goal is to help Entrepreneurs build a network that can help
them further development their start-up technology. The Israeli competition is one of nine contests IBM will
hold around the world. The winner of each country is a finalist in the
global Smartcamp competition final, to be held in early 2012
The Israeli contest winner in 2010, Panoramic Power,
represented Israel at the finals held last year in Ireland. They recently received $4.5 Million in Funding from Israel Cleantech and Greylock
Partners, who Co-Led the Investment. The company combines inexpensive wireless sensors and software offered as
a service (SaaS), to monitor real-time power consumption in residential buildings and offices - in savings of
15% to 20% in energy consumption. The system can also predict and prevent breakdowns, overloads and electrical

IBM Smartcamp is open to Startups less than five years old, and who had revenues in their last year of less
than a million dollars. IBM is looking for Entrepreneurs that want to take their start-up idea global and want
to help enable a Smarter Planet.
The Israeli SmartCamp competition is similar to contests that were held in Bangalore - India, Austin -
Texas, and New York City - United States, and Barcelona Spain - Spain. After Smartcamp Tel Aviv there will be contests in Istanbul -
Turkey, London - England, Beijing - China and Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. See the complete schedule here.
Startup Smartcamps are part of the IBM Gloal Entrepreneur
program, which helps IBM work with the new generation of entrepreneurs tackling some of the world’s most
pressing issues like water, transportation, healthcare and the environment that impact the way people live and
work. SmartCamp is a global initiative to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and experienced mentors on a
completely international basis.
This year's Israel IBM Smartcamp will be very competitive and even more successful than last year. I'm sure who
ever wins in Tel Aviv will represent Israel admirably and give the rest of the Smartcamp country finalist a
good run for the money in the final.
