What's new in RAD and RSA 8.5? Attend this session and learn about the top new features of RSA (Rational Software Architect) and RAD (Rational Application Developer) that can save you time and money. In RSA we will be discussing how to improve collaboration and reuse with design manager, as well as how to accelerate spring and hibernate development. In RAD we will be looking at the development support for the new Liberty profile, and how that will dramatically reduce development times for Websphere Application Server development, as well as the new Rich Page Editor for simplifying and accelerating the development of Web2.0 applications.

So what do you get when you cross SOA with Telecommunications? No joke: you get a new standard called TelcoML! As with most designs, it is standardization that propels the segment into the mainstream popularity - this is true in both the physical world (train track dimensions, electric voltage standards) as well as the software realm (digital video, http/html, and UML itself).
Join this webcast to learn more about TelcoML, a customization of the SOA Modeling Language (SoaML), for the telecom domain. As you may know, SoaML is Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) modeled in UML. The goal of TelcoML is to provide a blueprint for interfacing and defining services for the telecom industry. This includes services for telecom devices such as wireless and land line terminals, as well as services within the IT systems and Network side of the Communications Service Providers (CSPs).
A specialization of SOA for domain specific application, TelcoML components are either defined or required for definition by the user. Service interfaces include, security, transactions related to security, system integrity such as recovery from errors, and interfaces needed to be defined by the user. As such, TelcoML is a SOA based superset of the OneAPI commonly used in the wireless industry and has been standardized by the Object Management Group (OMG) in 2011.
The Good Design is Good Business community is excited to host Irv Badr, Worldwide Go-to-Market Manager: Energy, Utilities and Communications Industries at IBM Rational. Irv is co-chair of MARTE, TelcoML and Object Management Group’s Smart Energy standards. Irv has written over fifty papers on real-time and embedded systems and model-driven development in his nearly twenty years’ experience in developing software architecture and marketing complex systems.

SOA Briefing: Enhance your Rational Software Architect experience with the Service-Oriented Analysis and Design (SOAD) Model Accelerator
Rational Software Architect (RSA) is one of the most popular design and development platforms on the market today. If you are designing and developing SOA solutions, the "Ready for Rational" SOAD Model Accelerator builds upon RSA's value with even more productivity.
The SOAD Model Accelerator guides the practitioner to create best-practice based (Rational SOMA and SoaML) SOA Solutions, reduce mechanical steps, enhance solution focus and magnify creativity and problem solving skills. The components of the SOAD Model Accelerators are focused in 4 areas:
Speaker: Lee Ackerman, VP/CTO, the Emphasys group
Host: Roger Snook, IBM Rational
28 March 2012, 11AM Eastern Time Zone (USA).
North American Dial in Phone Numbers:Web Conference:
To celebrate summer and our latest version of the SOAD Model Accelerator, we're having a contest.
We're having a draw to give away printed copies of our book Designing Solutions using the SOAD Model Accelerator. To enter the draw, send an email to email@example.com before midnight (ET) on
In total, we'll be giving away ten (10) copies of the book.
As always, we continue to provide free access (registration required) to the ebook.
