The WebSphere MQ Monitoring agent provides dozens of workspaces for you to view monitoring data. Some workspaces can be retrieved directly from the TEP navigation nodes, for example, the Queue Manager Status workspace. Some workspaces can only be linked to from another workspace, which might not be that obvious especially when you are not familiar with the agent. If you want to locate some specific attribute and don’t know which workspace contains this attribute, here is something you can try with the documentation. Note: Only the... [More]

We are pleased to announce that support for (traditional) WebSphere Application Server V9 and Liberty has been added to ITCAM for Application Diagnostics on z/OS. Using this new enhancement, you can now perform detailed monitoring of performance on the latest levels of application server. The support is provided through an updated data collector (188.8.131.52), often referred to as the ITCAM Data Collector for WebSphere. When you configure and start the data collector it runs within the same Java Virtual Machine (JVM) as the application server and... [More]
To take over the configuration of an RTE from another user, you just need to supply the GBL_USER_JCL, the RTE high-level qualifier, and your preferred jobcard information. With these values, you can manipulate any RTEs previously created by someone else. To manage another user’s RTE, proceed as follows: 1. Start the installation and configuration tool by running the command EX 'gbl_target_hilev.TKANCUS'. ‘gbl_target_hilev’ is the high-level qualifier for the SMP/E target libraries where the products are installed.
