My developerWorks is a great tool to use for "giveback".   What is giveback?  If you are project manager or like to mentor,  consider using My developerWorks as a way to share what you know and nurture ideas and skills in others....plus you might learn a thing or two along the way.  

Where would you start?  First...if you are a Project Manager type....you'd most likely start by planning..... some considerations for your plan:

• Start a blog about what you know and advertise that you want to share, create a project or mentor.
• Reach out to people on their status boards...especially those that mention they are interesting in connecting with experts.
• Join a group and engage on the discussion forum,  add important bookmarks 

Giving back doesn't have to be big....small steps can make the difference too.
