Operations Research of Smarter Transportation
Kathy MacWillliams 100000GQFD Visits (2065)
This course will provide an introduction to the main operations research techniques and how they can be specifically applied to the transportation industry. While the course will focus on the theoretical foundations underelying the design of transportation systems, it will also cover the reasons for the need of transportation planning. Students will also be introducted to mathematical software on which they can improve their understanding of the concepts. The analysis of the aforementioned case studies will be done, as much as possible, with the help of relevant available software, such as IBM ILOG CPLEX optimizer and the AMPL language or free software alternatives such as Sage and the Gnu Linear Programming Toolkit.
