Introduction to Healthcare Analytics
Kathy MacWillliams 100000GQFD Visits (1996)
This course covers concepts and tools that aid decision making in healthcare by applying data-driven, computer-based tools to healthcare problems. Effective use of data analysis increases the quality of strategic and operative planning and reduces the time used for decision-making processes. Healthcare administrators are increasingly overwhelmed by the speed of decision making, and the amount of data available to help make these decisions. Their success depends on their ability to extract business value from the raw data that their organizations collect. This course focuses on data-driven techniques and tools including such topics as business reporting, business performance monitoring (managerial dashboards) and data mining applied to the health care industry. IBM technologies may include DB2 Express, Cognos and SPSS.
