It all starts with what you name your situations. If you do not have unique names you could potentially cause greater problems for yourself and your environment. The number of characters allowed varies depending on the characters used, because some UTF-8 characters require more than one byte.’ (Page 259) Please note when creating... [More]

Updates for the Java webstart client crash issues. ( Please refer my previous blogs - Java 6u65 and Java 7u45 ) The failure is caused by new security enforcement of JRE runtime parameters in Java Webstart deployed applications jnlp files. This security change was introduced with Oracle JRE 6u65 and JRE 7u45. The APAR IV51394 is opened to resolve this problem and provisional fixes for the following releases will be tentatively available on Friday, Nov 15th: 6.3.0-TIV-ITM-FP0001, 6.3.0-TIV-ITM-FP0002 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0001,... Oracle added same security updates in Java 1.7u45 that I mentioned in my previous blog into Oracle Java 1.6u65. As a result, Java webstart client will fail to start with Oracle Java 1.6u65. The only work around at this point is to use Oracle Java 1.6 u51 or less. The customer can also use the TEP browser client as an alternative. We opened an APAR IV51394 to resolve this issue but we don't have ETA yet. We'll update the progress when we have a solid plan.
