IBM RFE Community, Release 22
The RFE Community is a place where you can collaborate with development teams and other product users through your ability to search, view, comment on, submit, and track product requests. You can access the RFE Community through the product feedback link on the developerWorks website.
The community also acts as a front-end database bridged to a back-end Rational ClearQuest database called RATLC and Rational Team Concert databases. New submissions, user comments, status changes, and developer comments are bridged between the RFE Community and the databases several times a day. The bridges to the databases allow the development teams to work with the process and tools they are most comfortable with, while allowing our users to collaborate in an open community environment.
In Release 22, several new features have been added to the Group Watchlist function. These features let you:
- Archive requests from a watchlist
- Categorize a request while viewing it
- Categorize a request without it losing its place in the watchlist, even when moving it to a different category
In addition to the new Group Watchlist features, the Notifications functions have been updated to include more granular request subscribe capabilities (product/component). The subscribe function allows you to choose a certain product, and for that product to choose from a list of all components. There is an option to receive an email notification automatically if there is a request update related to the chosen product/components. All subscribed products/components are shown on the My notifications page.
Other Notification improvements include the addition of the request headline in the email's subject line and the use of the submitter's display name in some email templates.
Also in Release 22, duplicate requests can inherit votes. When a request is closed as a Duplicate, its votes will be moved to the request that it is a duplicate of. This way, IBM retains the cumulative number of unique votes cast for the request documented in the open request.
Finally, one last change is the ability to browse Uncommitted Candidate and Under Consideration requests.
