Creating comments in presentations

When you edit or review a presentation, you can create comments for objects such as graphics, images, and text boxes on a slide. All comments of the presentation are displayed on the Comments sidebar.

To create comments for the presentation, perform the following steps:

  1. Click a slide in the Slides view and click the object for which you want to insert a comment.
  2. Click Add Comment insert comment on the toolbar. The Comments panel is displayed.
  3. Type your comment in the field, and press Enter or click Add. The comment is inserted into the presentation and is displayed on the panel with your name, date, and time. It is ready for you to start a conversation with others.

  4. Optional: If you want to direct the comment to any editor, enter the symbol @, a list of editors of the document is displayed. Select the editor that you want from the list, and then enter your comment.
  5. Optional: You can create only one comment for the same object on a slide. Click Add Comment insert comment on the toolbar again if you want to create a comment for another object.
  6. To respond to any comment, click the double arrow icon expand comment arrow to expand the comment. Then click Respond to enter your response. Press Enter when you finish typing. The response is added to the comment with a different icon.
  7. Optional: You can direct the response to any editor. When you type the response content, enter the symbol @, a list of editors of the document is displayed. Select the editor that you want from the list, and then enter your response.
  8. If you want to remove any comment, click the trash icon remove comment icon. The comment together with all responses is deleted.
  9. After you finish the comments for the slide, click Slides to switch to that view. Click another slide to create comments. The comments are all displayed as parallel folders on the sidebar. Click any comment to see the detailed content and discussion thread.
