Creating headers and footers

In a document, you can create a header at the beginning of the page margin, or a footer at the end of the page margin. You can also edit and hide headers or footers after you create them.

Headers and footers are areas at the beginning and the end page margins where you can add text or graphics. For example, you can insert page numbers, the date, a company logo, the author’s name and so on. The margin is the blank space outside the printing area on a page. No matter how many page breaks your document has, you can create only one header and one footer for the document. The header is located at the beginning margin, and the footer is located at the ending margin. You can specify whether to include the header and footer when you print the document.
