The IBM z Systems Development and Testing hub is the place to come for information related to IBM z Systems Development and Test tools. Currently IBM ships three versions of its Test environment for z Systems: IBM z Systems Development and Test Environment (zD&T), IBM Rational Development and Test Environment for z Systems (RD&T), and IBM Rational Developer for System z Unit Test feature (RDz-UT). All products are based on the IBM System z Personal Development Tool (zPDT). IBM Rational Developer for System z Unit Test is an add-on to the IBM Rational Developer for z Systems integrated development environment. zD&T and RD&T are available as standalone Development and Test Environment for z Systems. All products create a personal z Systems development and unit test environment running on a Personal Computer.
IBM z Systems Development and Test Environment (zD&T) is announcing the first tools Beta available at this page: zD&T Beta. The tool allows authorized command-line users to quickly extract a full z/OS volume to a sequential file for use in a zD&T environment. This is the first step to help automate cloning of your z/OS system(s) for use on IBM z Systems Development and Test Environment by your mainframe software delivery team.
On this hub you can connect with the IBM z Systems Development and Test community to reach out when you're stuck, learn what is new, and share hints, tips, and ideas. Together, we can use this hub as a central place to help find the information needed to make your experience with zD&T, RD&T, and RDz-UT as productive as possible.
The hub owner is Adilson Colombo who also moderates the forums, wikis, and other public areas of the Hub. From time to time he may sometimes delete material that diverges too far from the purpose of the group and/or does not meet the IBM Business Guidelines established for social media.
