Everyday 2.5 quintillion bytes of data gets created - infact 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. This data comes from everywhere in various forms, such as from sensors used to gather climate information, digital pictures and videos posted on social media sites like Facebook and YouTube, transaction records of online purchases, and even the 140-character posts on Twitter add up to several terabyte daily.
On the corporate level there has been an explosion of structured data as organisations have moved their internal and external functions to online systems, and digitized paper-based forms and legal documents. This huge amount of information is called Big Data.
IBM provides a unique Big Data platform that allows you to address the full spectrum of big data business challenges.
