Pinned topic SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle /ibm/console has not been defined

‏2013-06-14T15:11:32Z |

If your admin console in the websphere application Test server running with RAD or the stand alone server gets corrupted and you cannot log back on to the console.

How to resolve the issue?

You can try installing the console again (for windows system)

Similar commands are available for linux

    Open a command prompt

Navigate to the profile\bin  of your server installed directory

    e.g. IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\bin

wsadmin  -lang jython -f deployConsole.py remove

wsadmin -lang jython -f deployConsole.py install

    This may resolve the issue.

If this still does not resolve the issue, then go to check the server.xml file.

Check if the provisionComponents flag is set to true accidentally.

If it is, change it to false. Restart the server and see if you can log on back to the admin console.

Notes about the  provisionComponents flag -

This flag is set to false by default and not listed in the server.xml.

You can enable this flag by selecting the "Start components as needed"  in the admin console

If all the above still does not work, time to open a PMR to the websphere application server support team

for assistance. They will have the expertise to further diagnose your issues.
