Pinned topic RAD 7.5.5.1 WAS Test Server Install Issues

‏2013-07-19T17:38:50Z |

Hello,

I see a strange issue on RAD 7.5.5.1 install on XP fixpack 3. While installation I did select WAS 6.1 and WAS 7 test environment . After installation under preferences-> Websphere Application Server I do not see the default profile or installed runtimes. Run Profile management tool is disabled by default.Checked the RAD installation folder and the folder had only base_stub,base_v6_stub,base_v7_stub,base_v61_stub.Could someone help me fix this issue on my local please.

Regards,

Shiva

    Hi Shiva,

Are you sure you installed the IBM WebSphere Application Server Test Environment and not only selected the IBM WebSphere Application Server development tools?

You can  verify by looking at the IBM Installation Manager -> View Installed Packages entry under the Windows Start menu (if you post the installed.xml file located under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager for an admin installation and C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager for a non admin installation, you could verify it for you).

They are shown as package extensions to the RAD 7.5.5.1 package (for example: WebSphere Application Server v7.0 Test Environment extension). These installation packages are optional components to download. See the list of all the parts you can download from Passport Advantage: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019665

If this is what you have done, I would suggest you to export the IBM Installation Manager data for problem analysis following the steps described in the following page: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/install/v1r4/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.cic.agent.ui.doc/topics/t_im_export_data.html and contact your local support team).

    Regards
    ,

    Francois
