Pinned topic ODBC SQL State: IM014 The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application

‏2013-12-10T14:08:38Z |

Hi,

I'm trying to create a MS SQL Server 2008 db alias. But when I type the
Connection String and DB Name and click Proceed, the message return is:

"ODBC SQL State: IM014 The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application"

Optim 9.1, and Optim Directory is Oracle.

Thanks

    Hello,

There is a document available identified by the following:

    Technote 1591579

The discussion centers around the fact that Optim is a 32 bit application and it looks as though you are identifying a 64 bit version of the driver to use in the connection string. The solution is to navigate to the 32 bit ODBC driver folders / manager and use the 32 bit version of the ODBC driver.

The 32-bit version of the the ODBC Administrator tool is located at

    %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64\Odbcad32.exe

Even though it looks like you have solved your problem, it is also worth documenting here - I have seen this before where the ODBC datasource is built using the SQL Server driver that is included in Windows.  Downloading and using the 32bit SQL Native Client to build the datasource helps with this issue as well.

    Hope this helps someone!
