Pinned topic LDAP failover with FileNet Content Engine 5.1 and Tivoli Directory Server 6.3

‏2013-10-04T18:54:14Z |

Hi,

My customer requires a LDAP Server failover. They have a LDAPServer01 and installed a second LDAPServer02, both running Tivoli Directory Server.

My expectation is, after change on WAS security configuration for authentication, change FileNet Content Engine Directory configuration (p8domain properties) with something like this:

DirectoryServerHost = LDAPServer01:389 LDAPServer02:389

DirectoryServerPort = N/A

Is there someone running successfully FileNet 5.1 with TDS 6.3 failover list, for authorization purposes ?

This is the system configuration:

- Windows 2008 Server R2

- WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.25

- Tivoli Directory Server 6.3

- FileNet Content Engine 5.1.0.2

- FileNet Process Engine 5.0.0.4

Thanks,

Carlos.

    Hello,

    This is the last update about this issue:

    FileNet 5.2 currently supports HOST:PORT pair to create the LDAP failover list:

    Configuring directory server failover (IBM Tivoli Directory Server)
    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/p8docs/v5r2m0/topic/com.ibm.p8.ce.admin.tasks.doc/aboutem/aem_config_server_failover_tivoli.htm

    Under my situation (FileNet 5.1) there is a workaround (from internal IBM forums). Provide Directory Configuration (with FEM) using this format:

    DirectoryServerHost => TDSserver1:389 ldap://TDSserver2:389 ldap://TDSserver3 (Notice the last server name doesn't have port number)
    DirectoryServerPort => 389

    Thanks,

    Carlos.
